The center of supplementary professional education was established in 2000, it works as a faculty and consists of ten self-supporting subdivisions, which provide educational services for enterprises and citizens of Ulyanovsk and the Ulyanovsk region.

Director of the center of supplementary professional education is Efimov Vladimir Vasilievich. In 2001-2002 academic years by means of different forms of educational process in the center of supplementary professional education raised their qualification more than 1700 people, middle level managers and specialists of the enterprises of Ulyanovsk.

Directions of educational activity are following: management; marketing, finances and credit, business accounting, audit-economical and social policy; personnel management; quality management; informational technologies and electronics; computer-aided design systems; new materials and production technologies; ecology and rational nature management; labor protection and vital activity safety; power engineering and fuel; mathematical statistics and mathematical modeling; public relations.

Those who successfully completed education receive documents of the state standard:

• Certificate on professional development (72 – 100 academic hours)
• Certificate on professional development (more than 100 academic hours)
• Diploma on professional retraining (not less than 500 academic hours)
