Ulyanovsk is situated about 900 km from Moscow. Trip from Moscow takes 16 hours by railroad or 1.5 hour by air. There is an interurban bus station and a big river port that allows to reach all cities of Povolzhye region such as Samara, Saratov, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, etc. Ulyanovsk-Vostochny is an international cargo airport and is a home base of Volga-Dnepr Airlines operating scheduled cargo services and worldwide charters.
